Gerry Southwood has been with Clariant since January 2012, and is based at BU Functional Minerals’ headquarters in Munich. On 1st April, 2015 he assumed responsibility for the global launch of Clariant’s newly formed Filtration & Separation Solutions business, after previously holding the roles of Head of Global Business Development for Business Line Water Treatment and Head of Sales for the EMEA region for the Functional Additives business.

Prior to joining Clariant Gerry spent seventeen years within the water and process treatment sector, within Ashland, Hercules, BetzDearborn and Betz in variety of leadership roles in Europe, the Middle-East and Asia Pacific regions, across Sales, Marketing, Technology, Supply Chain, Business Reengineering and Business Management. He delivered or contributed directly to significant improvements to top-line growth, cash flow, profitability and productivity as well as being responsible for a number of important innovations and corporate initiatives. A native of the United Kingdom, he has spent much of his career living and working internationally, in South Africa, Singapore, Switzerland and Germany.

An electrical and instrumentation engineer by discipline, Gerry is passionate about understanding market and customer needs and creating value by delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

He and his wife live in Munich, Germany.
