Grigory Mashkovtsev
General Director
All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Mineral Resources named After N.M. Fedorovsky Federal State Budgetary Institution FGBU "VIMS"
Mashkovtsev Grigoriy Anatolyevich, born in 1944, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, General Director of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Mineral Raw Materials. N.M. Fedorovsky (VIMS).
Grigoriy Mashkovtsev is prominent scientist in the field of geology of ore deposits. He made a significant contribution to the improvement of the theory of uranium ore formation. He is the creator of the scientific direction, reflecting the evolutionary-geological and geodynamic factors of the formation of ore-forming systems and the new high-performance technology for assessing the ore potential of large areas. As a result the resource potential of uranium in Russia, Central Asia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia was assessed, and priority areas for the development of geological exploration in them were identified, which led to a significant development of their mineral and raw material potential.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mashkovtsev, large scientific forums are regularly held, including international symposium on topical issues of geology and development of deposits,
Dr. Mashkovtsev published more than 150 papers on a wide range of geological problems.
