The films submitted for participation in the Festival will be evaluated by a competent jury consisted of professional editors and film makers.
Participation in this Festival implies that the applicants have read and accepted competition T&Cs.
Applications for participation in the competition must be submitted before 1st September 2019. Films that have passed the preliminary selection will be allowed to participate in the competition program. Public viewing of the films will be organised during coffee breaks, lunches and networking events of the forum. The winning films will be announced on 10 October and uploaded to the MINEX Forum and First Geological YouTube channel.
Participation in this Festival is free.
Competition is open to companies and private individuals – professionals and video amateurs. Individual participants must be adults (18 years or more at the time of application).
Application rules
(a) the applicant grants to the Organisers a royalty-free right to (once or repeatedly) show the film alongside MINEX Russia Forum and upload winning film on MINEX Forum and First Geological YouTube channel.
(b) the applicant provides the Organisers with the right to use their name, image, photo, image, as well as audio and video recordings (if available) in any form and for any purposes stipulated by the Rules of this Festival. Monetary reward for the applicant will not be provided.
Films submitted to the competition must meet the following requirements:
(a) films must comply with the nominations of the competition program;
(b) the applicant must own the copyright or must have a power of attorney from the copyright holder to submit the film to festival
(c) the film should not exceed 15 minutes.
(d) the video file should be Full HD (1920 * 1080) or higher.
(e) the size of the video file should not exceed 2 GB.
(e) films should be sent through the file sharing link with the application form
(g) films submitted to the Festival must have a license-free audio track.
Applicants must ensure that films submitted to the Festival comply with the Russian intellectual property and copyright requirements, and grant the organisers permission for public screening of the films during the forum.
(a) applicants must have permission from people/character shown in the films for public screening of the films.
(b) when images or items protected by copyright or license rights appear in a film, the applicant is responsible for obtaining permission to use these images from copyright holders (before submitting an application for the competition).
(c) if the film contains an image of a registered trademark, etc., the applicant is responsible for obtaining permission for public screening of the film from the owner of the rights to a registered trademark to use this image (before submitting applications to the competition program).
(d) films submitted for the festival should be royalty-free and provided to the organisers free of charge.
(f) applicants grant the organisers the right to use individual shots from films for publication in press releases, media reports, and for the production of video, photo or printed materials (by prior agreement with the applicant).
(a) the applicant takes full responsibility for complying with the intellectual property and other laws and rights when shooting the films submitted for the festival.
(b) the organisers are not liable for any material or moral damage caused by consequential or direct losses, including damage to property, life and health of third parties, caused by the conduct of this action or as a result of the use of valuable prizes awarded to the winners, except as required by applicable law.
(c) the organisers and the staff involved in organising the Festival do not bear any responsibility for moral or material damage that may arise as a result of administrative or technical errors during the course of this Festival, except for cases provided for by the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
(d) when submitting the film for participation in this Festival, the applicant undertakes to protect the organisers from any kind of claims, expenses, or damages associated with the applicant’s participation in the Festival. All responsibility for violating the copyrights of third parties and other rights associated with the use of video materials must be borne solely by the applicant.
(e) tax, royalties and other payments related to the participation of applicants and the use of their video materials are payable by applicants.
